In many ways, a good, quality, fulfilling life, is a life that is balanced. We need a proper balance in order to live a happy and healthy life. Everything in this world comes down to finding this proper balance. Whether it’s in work life and home life, eating healthy and eating what makes you happy, serving others without neglecting yourself, etc., everything works better and goes more smoothly when you’ve got a balance. You may even smile more when your life is more balanced because you feel more present, more vibrant.
Now, this is not the time or place to “take massive action”. Don’t try to jump in and change every area of your life at once. This may have caused the imbalances in your life in the first place. Breath here and take baby steps. This process takes time, patience, and the faith that life is not passing you by.
Here are a few simple tips to help you in your journey towards balance and vibrance:
1) Learn How to Prioritize
Start by figuring out which areas of your life are out of balance. Chances are you are happily balanced in some areas that may not require as much attention as others. Is it health, relationships, self-care, or work? Once you decide which areas are out of balance, you can set goals and schedule activities to get your life back.
Prioritizing and scheduling in these areas can be a great practice to start introducing more of a sense of balance to your life. We all have busy lives and long to-do lists; the only way we’ll ever get everything done and find balance in our lives is by prioritizing what needs to be done when and scheduling our days accordingly.
The challenging part of this process is deciding exactly what is most important; in some cases, your work may take priority, but in others family or friends may take priority over your work or your to-do list. Only you can decide what’s important and what should be prioritized in your schedule.
2) Set Proper Goals around Your Priorities
Setting both long-term and short-term goals can prove to be incredibly helpful in achieving a balance in your life. It helps you keep your sights on what you want and what’s important. It also helps you to avoid distractions and to stay on your path. The short-term goals help you to track your progress as you work to achieve your long-term goals, and help you stay on track.
3) Schedule specific activities that support your Goals:
There is a huge difference between a goal and an activity to support your goals. These two often get confused. For example, you may think that creating a workable financial budget is a goal. It is disguised as a goal when in reality it is an activity. The goal may be financial freedom or stability in the future. Creating a workable budget is an activity, or step in the process of getting you to financial stability, which will help you to achieve more balance in your finances.
Once you’ve completed your schedule and are sure that you’re specific in the goals you want to achieve and the steps necessary to get there, you should review your schedule. This is an incredibly important step allowing you to reflect on your goals and priorities to ensure everything is flowing in the right direction.
4) Find an Accountability Buddy or Hire a Coach
An accountability buddy is someone that holds you accountable for the goals you’ve made, the priorities you’ve set, and the things you’ve said you’ve wanted to do and accomplish. It’s easier to find balance and stick to your goals and schedule when you have someone to be accountable to.
Your relationship with your accountability buddy should be interactive and mutual. If you’re not pulling your weight or you carrying more than your load, you could be hurting yourself more than you’re helping.
If you are serious about personal growth and you want to speed up your results, just hire a coach. They are qualified and trained to help you reach your goals faster.
5) Keep the process top of mind
Life isn’t just about the end result, it’s about enjoying the process, the journey. In order to achieve a proper balance, you need to always keep in mind that it’s more about the process than the potential achievement. Your transformation takes place in the process. You become the person who “fill in the blank”.
We all need balance in order to live a happy and healthy life. Finding the proper balance in your life can be difficult, but it’s not impossible and it’s well worth the effort. Hopefully, this message has helped to point you on the right path towards a healthy balance in your vibrant life.
Be well + prosper,
