Building your home based business can be very fun and exciting. It isn’t, however, for the faint at heart. It is very possible and common to lose that “spark” that you once had for your home based business as reality of what it really takes sets in. Even if your business is highly successful, you can still fall prey to the day in and day out humdrum of business building.
As these feelings start to set in, it’s vitally important to hold tight to those reasons you were so “on fire” in the beginning. Believe it or not, it is possible for you to rekindle the fire and experience higher realms of joy, excitement and success. So why not reignite the fire and dall in love with your home based business again and go change those lives that are out there just waiting for YOU!!
Here are a few tips that can help you get your fire back for your home based business:
Remember “WHY” you started your home based business in the first place
It’s amazing how soon we forget our original reasons for why we decided to take this journey. Fire and passion are directly tied to “why” we do what we do. Maybe, you need to revisit your “why”. It can even change from time to time. For instance, maybe your “why” was to stay at home with your kids. Now your kids might be growing older and aren’t quite as dependent on you as before.
If so, revisit your “why”. Breathe new life into it. Maybe this time it can be more about you and less about others. Now your why could because you have a special gift to share with the world or you value your independence. There’s nothing selfish about wanting to serve humanity with your gifts. Reexamine your “why” today; it is a quick way to get the fires burning once again.
Celebrate how far you’ve come in your home based business
There is a lot research being published about the benefits of celebrating your wins. Still, we need to be reminded of how powerful it is to celebrate.
Any amount of success in your home based business is a reason to celebrate. Many people enter the home based business industry and never make a dime. If you’ve been one of the fortunate ones that have made a few sales, celebrate! You may not have attained the success you are shooting for, but celebrating along the way is a strategy that will allow you to enjoy the journey even more.
Take a Short Break
Try to take a mini vacation, maybe for an extended weekend. Burnout is so sneaky that many times it can go undetected. You might think, well, how can I be burned out, I haven’t even reached my goal. It doesn’t matter. Everyone’s completely different. You have to take into account, your physical, mental and emotional capacity to manage stress and change, your season of life and the circumstances surrounding you.
You’d be surprised at how “recharging your batteries” can lead to fresh ideas, increased creativity and a renewed appreciation for your home based business. You might even get breakthrough ideas while you’re away. Be sure to write them down and implement them when you get back home.
Instead of Comparing, Start Celebrating
I’d love to skip this one but I can’t. You would think that we would know this one by now.
“Comparison is the thief of joy”.
When you constantly compare your home based business to someone else’s you will find your joy slowly slipping away. Before you know it, your passion will be gone. Instead of comparing yourself to others, try celebrating the success of those that you admire. This mindset shift will set you up for victory.
Mirror the Success of Someone Similar to You
Try finding someone who is successful in your particular home business niche who you have something in common with and mirror their success. Maybe they went from Corporate America to home based business consultant if the year. You can relate to them because you too have experienced Corporate America.
We all love a “rags to riches story” because transformation is so dramatic.
In order to mirror their success, you have to mirror their ingenuity, fearlessness and work ethic. They may make it look easier than it actually is. You can do it, but maybe just in a different way. Trying to follow and be like the wrong person is draining and frustrating. Their is a role model for all of us. Find one who resonates with you personally. You might start getting your joy back.
Find a Mentor or Coach
Getting stuck in business can be totally normal. There are mentors and coaches out here who are fully equipped to help you to get unstuck and hit the reset button. My best advice is to look for someone that has no other agenda except to see you win. Together, you can map out a new strategic plan that makes sense for your lifestyle and your home based business.
They can also help you to get laser focused on the income producing activities you need to master based on your goals and vision. Just having this person in your life can make a world of difference. They will provide you with a new sense of community and shave years off of your journey to the top of your field.
Give Yourself Grace and Hit the RESET button
In order to properly hit the reset button in your home based business, you must first give yourself a lot of grace. That’s right, forgive yourself for whatever you may be feeling guilty about. Give yourself a big hug and go back to the drawing board.
Go back and do the things that brought you success in the very beginning.
This is one of the easiest and fastest ways to get the fire burning again. Most people never apply this strategy to their business. They simply give in before they really win.
Mentally going back to the startup phase and becoming a “beginner”, releases that neophyte fire that can catapult your home based business to the next level. It might be the single most mindset shift that you need to start the fires burning once again.
So go for it, apply these tips to your home based business and fall in love again!
