At some point in time, we all need powerful beliefs for a better life.
Take me for instance. I’m usually a pretty upbeat, positive person, but I actually had a particularly challenging week for several reasons. Some of which were within my control and some that weren’t. At first, I was feeling mentally exhausted. I found myself even complaining a bit to my husband and son! Surprising, they both began to remind of some of the powerful beliefs that I have shared with them over the years. I was dumbfounded, but encouraged. So, yay, it actually does work!
I began to rehearse some of the powerful beliefs that I had learned over the years. Before you I knew it, I was back on my feet, or should I say, I was back at my computer, smiling and plugging away, again.
Today, I want to share some of these powerful beliefs for a better life.
Consider these empowering beliefs that you can start using today to transform your life through the power of positive believing.
10 Powerful Beliefs for a Better Life:
- I believe in myself: This belief about yourself will set you on the right track everyday of the week. Here’s why. We all have a deep human need to be understood, trusted and approved by others. That’s just normal. What’s not normal is a deep sense of faith in oneself. Of course, there are people who are born with this trait. But the majority of us are not. Take the time to develop a deep abiding belief in your own human potential and it will strengthen you against the attacks that are sure to come. No one can do this for you, but YOU.
- I am in charge of my own life: This powerful belief is similar to the first but still slightly different. Of course, there are events and circumstances outside of our control. But for the most part we have way more power than we realize to turn our lives around. We lose that power exponentially when we start to blame others for our situation. Instead of looking for loopholes and playing the victim, look for ways to pull yourself up by the bootstraps. Take responsibility for yourself.
- I am enough: This powerful belief can protect you against the destructive habit of comparing yourself to others and feelings of in adequacy. Sure, there’s always room for improvement. But recognize that self improvement is an ongoing process. Take some time to celebrate where you are and how far you’ve already come. Then, acknowledge that you are enough!
- I can do something today to make tomorrow better: Another way of saying this is: I can take action today. There is usually something that you can do today that will make tomorrow better. A little action can go a long way. Sometimes, you may only have the strength to talk to a friend, take a nap or eat a really nutritious meal. All of these small actions can have a great impact on your future outlook.
- Everything that you are experiencing is somehow preparing you for your future: Life is one huge puzzle. Many of the things we experience are preparing us to be the person we need to be to handle what we need to handle. This powerfully true belief can encourage you when the going gets tough. You are in a flow state of becoming. These experiences are just making you more awesome. Believe it!
- Everything will be alright: Tough times can be the most rewarding phase of your life. Know that you can emerge from any challenge with greater clarity, wisdom and courage. Look back at the obstacles you’ve already overcome, and reassure yourself that you can handle what’s ahead. Everything was alright before..it will be alright again.
This is a favorite for all of my worriers out there. At the end of the day, all will be well.
- There are opportunities all around me: When the going gets tough, ( or should I say when the bank account looks dry) try adopting an abundance mentality. It’s powerful to focus on the abundance surrounding you, instead of concentrating on lack. When you view life through the eyes of lack, all you will see is more lack. When you go in the opposite direction, you become more aware of all the opportunities that were always there.
- I embrace change: As we know, change is really the only thing that is constant. I once heard a not so popular saying by Robin Sharma:
“Victims are frightened by change. Leaders are inspired by it.”
- I choose to dream big no matter what: There’s nothing like the power of dreaming big. Dreaming big allows us to grab tight to a higher version for our life. Everything starts with a dream. When you practice dreaming big often, it sets the stage for growth, development and eventually success. Don’t let go of your big dream. Take some time away and remind yourself of why you started on this journey to begin with. It can give you the mental focus, strength and ingenuity to move forward.
- The world needs your awesomeness: You are uniquely and wonderfully made. Your life experiences, training and personality make you a wonderful gift to the world. No matter how many awesome people there are out there, there’s a void that can only be filled by you!
Embracing these powerful beliefs for a better life will create a more positive attitude and thereby increases your happiness and productivity.
Be mindful to question your old assumptions and be open to replacing them with a new sense of certainty about yourself and your future. Adopt these powerful beliefs that increase your confidence and prepare you for greater success.
